About me...
I write computer code -- data visualization with JavaScript today, and earlier in my career business servers and applications, then a stint in the cyber security industry and even some management. I also played around with many different 2D and 3D graphics technologies. Now I do everything with JavaScript along with D3.js for data visualization, and Ember JS or React JS for structuring client applications. If other useful technologies come along tomorrow I'll try them. I'm a huge fan of "reactive" programming primarily with RxJS.
Mobile and connected web applications are where the action is and where the excitement is for me. Status quo web applications are too easy. It's way more fun and challenging to push the limits of the technology to produce interactive visualizations and see how much depth I can squeeze out of a web browser.
To that end I am currently living in Silicon Valley and working at Netflix building next generation data visualization applications. My projects are for internal use and therefore free of the constraints of public-facing websites. Lucky me. My work has deeper interactivity and visual appearance than you are ever likely to see on a commercial website, and all driven by real time streaming data.
